Oba Olabomi installs new High Chief Onisikin of Iragbiji Land.



In the early hours of Friday, his Royal Majesty  Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, installed Chief Abdul- Wasiu Adeyemi of Oniyere Compound as the new high Chief Onisikin of Iragbiji land at the Palace Pavilion.
While speaking at the occasion, Oba Olabomi expounded what the office of the Onisikin Chieftaincy represents and performs. He said “The title insignia of office is a traditional machete (Ada Ilu) and the chief being coronated must be presented with the machete. He is also one of the high Chiefs in respectable position and power (Afobaje).”

Further speaking, Oba Olabomi added, “It is a must for the Onisikin Chieftaincy to take part in all activities in the Palace. He has access to sit alongside other High Chiefs in the Chamber when important issues are being discussed. He must also ensure that his relationship with other Chiefs and the Aragbiji is cordial.”

While rounding up the installation rites witnessed by Aragbiji Chiefs, family and friends of the new High Chief ,Oba Olabomi prayed for him.
