Enough Is Enough', Osun APC Local Chairmen Caution Aregbesola Over Championing Crises In APC Through TOP

The Forum of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Party Chairmen in the Local Government Council Areas in Osun State has cautioned the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, to stop henceforth the disturbance of the political peace of the state.

The APC party chairmen who spoke through their chairman, Hon Rufus Awotidoye, after a meeting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital yesterday, stated that the conduct of Mr Aregbesola constituted an obvious distraction to the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola who has been providing qualitative governance to the state.

Awotidoye disclosed that the Interior Minister's affirmation in Ilesa last Friday of being the brain behind the obnoxious, leprous and antagonistic pressure group within the state APC self-styled The Osun Progressives (TOP), was unfortunate and needless.

The APC party chairmen who praised the quick and prompt condemnation by the state chairman of the party, Prince Gboyega  Famodun, of the needless outburst of Aregbesola said, they were in agreement with the timely chairman's response.

They used the occasion to pass a vote of confidence in the administration of Governor Oyetola and party leadership of Prince Famodun.

The local APC party chairmen however, charged the governor to act his office by invoking his vast constitutional powers to deal with whoever is constituting a clog to the lawful performance of his official duties.

They warned Aregbesola to stop to take an advantage of the gentle nature of the governor to forment trouble and crisis in Osun State each time he visits the state.

The local party chairmen who reminded the Interior Minister that his ministerial appointment should be a source of blessing to the people of the state and not the other way round that he would not be the first and the last minister who hails from the state.

They reminded the Interior Minister that there is a portion of the law of the land  which can adequately handle his excesses and his riotous TOP which have turned themselves into needless instruments of attacks on the governor, the APC leadership in the state and the subsisting administration.

The local APC chairmen who cautioned Aregbesola to desist from distracting Governor Oyetola from performing his statutory duties to the people of the state told him that he is responsible for all the atrocities being performed against the sitting Governor and his government by the leadership of his militant political group in the state.

They asked the Interior Minister why he has chosen to be the tormentor-in-chief of Governor Oyetola when it's on record that the governor as his Chief of Staff gave him a hundred per cent support for the eight solid years he ran the administration of the state.

The furious APC local chairmen told Aregbesola that "'enough is enough, you should stop riding roughshod on the state as if Osun is a conquered territory of yours.

"There were functional politicians in the state before your foray into the political terrain of the state.

"You should stop playing God of possessing the  absolute power to install governors in the state as all powers belong to God Almighty.

"When it's apparent that you could not allow any kind of such seditious act against your administration when you were in government, one wonders why you are doing same to the focused administration of Governor Oyetola", the party chairmen stated further.

"Alleged Sabotage at Olaiya Flyover: A Desperate Attempt to Discredit

The recent damage to the Olaiya Flyover appears to be a deliberate act of sabotage aimed at tarnishing the structure's integrity. This incident follows the APC's press conference, where they alleged that the state government planned to damage the flyover to justify the impending failure of their own projects at Oke-fia and LAMECO. The two flyovers under construction at Oke-fia and LAMECO have encountered significant technical issues, potentially jeopardizing their success. It seems that some individuals are attempting to preemptively discredit the Olaiya Flyover, which has withstood criticism and scrutiny. A closer examination of the video footage reveals evident human interference and intentional damage, rather than an accidental occurrence. Fortunately, the targeted section is non-structural, and the attack will not compromise the flyover's stability. The public should be aware of the desperation of certain government officials to discredit the Olaiya Flyover ...

Osun borrowed N10bn in 2023, plans more borrowings in 2024 By Adebayo Adedeji

Facts have emerged that the Osun State Government under the headship of Senator Ademola Adeleke received a loan of N10,022,382,348.40 ( N10bn) in Y2023. The loan, described in the 2023 Budget Performance report of the state as Capital Development Fund, was borrowed from international financial institutions purportedly to enhance the infrastructure of the state. This revelation has given the lie to the boast  of the state governor, Adeleke, that his government has not obtained any loan to execute its projects. Similarly, another document has also revealed that the state government is planning to borrow additional N50.4bn in Y2024. These borrowings are despite the big Internal Generated Revenue ( IGR) of N39.5bn and federal allocation of N141bn that accrued to the state in 2023 and for which the state governor has failed to account.
